NO DISRESPECT INTENDED

I received some interesting responses to my blog from last night......let me be perfectly clear that I believe that Hillary Clinton is one of the brightest, most intelligent persons on the planet, not just a  smart woman, a brilliant person, regardless of gender.
So my critique of her hair was a simple observation, and I am sure, knowing how bright she is, she would agree, that her hair is not good. And if appearances are not important than minimize the "get ready" work and have short hair.
...thanks Rochelle- I was about to agree with everything you said, but I like Hillary's long hair!! She had it short for a long time and she is back to her younger self when she had it long...

....So agree about Hiliary's hair!  and gay marriage rights!  who cares who lives with one another and shouldn't they have the same rights!...

...I only wish i had one tenth of "Hillary"s brain....i think with her grueling schedule....no one to help get her ready as when in the white house, she has a difficult time with it.... but i agree, a little something is better then nothing.....and not everyone can wear long hair.....she does look better in short....aside from that, she does a bang up job!!!
i wish people would leave the gays alone.....my husband always says, why can't they be married and be as miserable as the rest of us....those are his words of wisdom.....as usual, i loved your blog!!...
Hillary knows to put on her pearls, as does Michelle so.......

AND LET THE GARDEN SEASON BEGIN

Peonies, and roses and weeds OH MY.....today was my first day in the garden, and it is a garden gone awry. It is not exactly weeds, because my son Jason, always tells me that weeds are only things that you don't want in your garden. Call them what you want....... due to the lack of a deep frost and cold this winter the garden looks like greens on steroids. I have day lilies and spider's wort growing everywhere in thick dense clumps. A little is lovely, even more is OK, but this is over the top. The day lilies have taken over everything. As I was thinning the lilies I found star gazer lilies that were being dwarfed, and roses that were being strangled.
The stone paths that the garden pixies follow were lost in the jungle, and my hydrangeas were one sunny day from being choked and smothered.
Well one small area is now clear, and the rest awaits the "weedinator"......in the famous words of Scarlet O'Hara, tomorrow is another day.
On a positive political thought, thank-you President Obama for supporting gay and lesbian unions.......if only the political powers would call this a civil union, and not a marriage, the church would be removed from the discussion, and people could live their lives as they choose.
I feel as though I should comment about the nonsense conversation regarding Hillary's hair, little make-up and glasses, but what is there to say. An attractive woman, not so much, and should she care more about her appearance.......she is beyond brilliant, and she was dressed nicely, so does it matter......well it shouldn't, I know in my head that it shouldn't matter, but would a bit of mascara, blush and even a ponytail be asking too much. I applaud Hillary for being comfortable in her own skin, but being a woman with bad hair as I am, does she need long locks.....Hil, think about Judi Dench, and consider a short do. It is easy, always looks good and ready to go.
Well the evening is fleeing quickly, and I have a book, The Paris Wife, to finish before my copy of 50 Shades of Grey arrives.

PUT ON YOUR PEARLS GIRLS.....

Mother's Day is just around the corner.......pearl jewelry stimulates spiritual transformation and promotes prosperity and success.
Ancient writings suggest that pearls enclose you with an aura of calm and beauty, also helping with stomach issues, digestion and emotional stress. They tend to amplify focus and stimulate wisdom.
What other piece of jewelry adorns you both inside and out........

WHAT'S IN THE NEWS

I started this blog this morning, and before I knew it I pushed the wrong key, and ooops the entire piece disappeared.......my thoughts were so clear and sharp, and now not so much. I had passion this morning, but now it seems like old news, and my enthusiasm has moved on to a fabulous fund raiser that I attended this evening, but first let me summarize my thoughts from this morning.
CBS morning show did a segment with Douglas Brinkley, political historian, on David Maraniss' interview in Vanity Fair.
Maraniss has written a new book "Obama:The Story" which deals with Obama's path to the White House. Apparently there is a section in which Maraniss interviews former girlfriends, college friends, professors, and anyone who knew him during college. Genevive Cook, former girlfriend, who kept a journal, and may I mention that Mr. Buckley referred to the journal as a custom people had back in the day when they wrote by hand in a book.....back in the day when people wrote by hand, President Obama was in college in the 80's. Am I that old, that back in the day refers to the 80's.......anyway that has little to do with Mr. Maraniss. Mr. Maraniss, Pulitzer Prize winner, quoted a woman who was the president's girlfriend 20+ years ago, and interestingly enough had nothing interesting to say other than she dated Mr. Obama for a year, and he was committed to studying, wanted to do well in college, and had ambition. This is news, and worth a Vanity Fair interview and CBS segment, am I missing the relevance of historical moments or should I say the lack of relevance of these non-historical moments. I love Charlie Rose and his cohorts at CBS, but wasn't there anything else happening this morning?
Tonight however  I went to a fundraiser, which was very relevant. In Christy's Shoes, aids Dress for Success and Zussman House, which was established by Katrina Levy Zidel in memory of her twin sister Christy, who lost her battle with brain cancer a few years ago. What an evening.......450, mostly young gorgeous women "dressed for success" came to raise money for a wonderful cause.
I could not believe the outstanding turnout........it is heart warming to see young women developing the spirit of giving, and supporting a great cause.
I had the opportunity to speak with Vicki Bowen Hewes, founder of Dress for Success in Columbus,  who believes in the necessity of women helping women........well women helped women tonight, and I am sure that a great deal of money was raised.
Katrina, an amazing night was had by all...... what a tremendous tribute to your sister giving to an organization which helps women develop confidence to move forward and seek success.
